Poppy on a Kite

Heading where the sun meets the clouds

learning to love me before, during and after!

Will you be your own valentine today? Will you look yourself in the mirror and be grateful for your uniqueness? Will you accept yourself, regardless of where you are on your health and wellness journey? Well, there it is in a nutshell … my body peace challenge to you on this Hallmark holiday.

Love who you are.
Love what you do for others.
Love your soul.
Love the body that carries you through life.

I’m working on body peace. My weight is not a symbol of my life or who I am. It is just an impermanent part of my existence that has been given far too much value in the world we live in. You are valuable, and so am I … and no number on the scale is going to change that.

This was me 25 lbs ago, photographed next to my brother-from-another-mother, Tremaine.

I don’t feel much different in the picture below, nor do I look strikingly different. But, I’ve changed, and it’s more than 25 lbs lost. I’m learning to accept and embrace who I am; letting the world get to know the real me: the crazy curled, fashion and color-loving dreamer with opinions and focus.

So, who knows what the next photo is going to look like? One thing I know for sure, I hope it looks like me. :)

How are you loving you today?

P.S. If you’re reading this Tremaine, you have to take a photo with me when I reach 50 lbs :) .
