Not all weight gain is misery-centric. People look at a chubby/fat person and think “Oh, wow. They must have a lot to be miserable about to eat themselves to that state.” But this just isn’t true; all the time. There is such a thing as weight gain from happy experiences.
I know can attribute at least 35 lbs of excess weight to happy weight experiences. I’ve maybe enjoyed a meal too many chattering away with close friends, traveled to countries with outrageously delicious food options (gelato and risotto al funghi porcini for lunch) … oh, and I had a baby.
I wouldn’t trade any of those experiences today to rid of these 35 lbs now. The happy weight was worth it. The 25 lb post-pregnancy weight gain, most of all.
I may have to work a little harder today to get this body back to where I want it, but I also brought a human being into the world whom I have loved and adored from the minute I laid eyes on him. That’s all the perfection, hope, love and joy I need.
I am so thankful to have this new love and life in my world.
Happy birthday, my beautiful Abyano.I love you.
